  1. There are so many different characteristics that make a woman strong. For me being comfortable & confident being alone, being able to ask for help, always trying to learn & grow, and owning up to your mistakes are traits that really stick out to me and the strong woman I want to become!

My quote is from Holly Whitaker who wrote “ Quit like a woman” and has been very helpful in my own journey!
“ Real power doesn’t come from having a million followers, good hair, a Louis Vuitton purse, a new car, a new home, a title, a partner, or anything that can be weighed, measured, or acquired. Real power is the thing you’ve always had inside you. Real power doesn’t need to be demonstrated or boasted. Real power is the ability to be in your skin, to know who you are, to know you will always be okay. Real power comes from your gut and your heart and your courage and your bravery and your love. Real power can never be taken away from you and never lost once it’s found.”
    She’s a bad ass.

  2. What makes a strong woman? Resiliencey, bravery, confidence, belief in her own power, warmth as in kindness and warmth as in the fire that rages within her that will burn any mother fucker to the ground, willingness to learn and grow, self awareness, empathy, transparency, softness… the list goes on. Some of the strongest women I’ve met have been dragged through mud but still love flowers. They’ve been beaten and their soul torn to shreds, but they still hold love in their hearts. Women are a different breed. It’s acceptable for us to feel pain and experience the full spectrum of emotions. Due to this, we know how to work through pain. THAT BRINGS STRENGTH. We see the beauty for truly what it is because we know how dark the ugly can be. Our bodies are physically built to create, carry, and birth life. There is not a single speck of weakness there. But we may feel it, and when women feel weak, you know what we do? We fucking FIGHT. Women portray the art of balance so incredibly well. From an aerial view, one may see some drowning while the women are floating. What one can’t see from above is the fight, the thought, and the technique the women put in to learn to float. That is beauty. That is strength.

    1. I have goosebumps, and tears in my eyes reading this. I could not have thought of a better explanation of a strong woman. That quote is perfect too.
Women are incredible because they are everything, all emotions wrapped into one. We are fire and stone but at the same time, we are soft and free spirited. We can love but we can also fight. And we do fight, every single day. For ourselves and for others around us. Women have come such a long way through the years, and through everything we have come out stronger!! It makes me so proud to be a part of a era that encourages women to stand together instead of tearing each other down. There is power in numbers, there is power in love.
The qualities that make up a strong woman are the same qualities that make up ALL women. This is the age that we start reminding our fellow women of this and all stand as tall as we deserve to.

Keep on being the strong woman that you are Lauren!
