Create a healthy meal!

I hope you enjoyed the recipe’s included in your self care kit! Sometimes I struggle to think of something healthy and different to make for dinner. Going through a ton of recipes online can be tiring and time consuming, especially when you don’t know what you want to eat. That is why I created a binder full of recipes that I stumbled upon at one time or another and thought “I need to try this.” It is perfect for nights when you don’t know what you want to eat.
These days I have a binder for recipes that include meat, and one for vegetarian meals. I am working on getting a dessert one put together too. Some of my favorite recipes have been shared with me from others, and I have passed on many recipes throughout the years. I love when someone tells me they don’t know how to cook and they don’t know where to start because I was there, I’ve only been cooking for 6 years.. baking for 3.

When I started cooking I was nervous to step outside the box, and 90% of the chicken I cooked was bone dry because I didn’t want to serve it undercooked. I started with easy foods that I knew how to cook, like rice and potatoes. Now I’m cooking meals from different countries and substituting things without a second thought. If my confidence in the kitchen can grow, then anyone’s can! You just have to try.

Passing on a good recipe is like passing on a good book, both are essential and it’s always better to try someone’s favorite something!
