How did you enjoy nature today?

Today I am going disc golfing in place of my afternoon walk. Routines are great but sometimes it is nice to alter them a bit.

I struggle to bring myself to spend time outside when it’s cold out, but getting outside every day, even if it is just 15-20 minutes, is so important. It will lift your mood and the change of environment and fresh air can make all the difference. I’ve started a new routine to get me out of the house on a daily basis. I go for a 30 minute walk in the morning before work. I go for a walk around the building at work for my 15 minute break, and I end my day with a nice long walk around the neighborhood.

The affect this has on my mental health is HUGE. I never realized how being cooped up in my house, office, or gym was affecting my mood. Making me restless and making it easier to succumb to bad habits. So today I encourage you to get outside, bundle up if you have to, and feel that sunshine on your face!!
